No. 2What Design Is Worth

Design pays twice.

Once when you rent it, in the nightly rate and the calendar. Again when you sell it, in the offers and the weeks on market.

No. 3What We Design

What are we designing?

A condo is about the floor plan. A villa is about the land. A hotel is about the guest. Start with yours.

—FAQ

Questions, answered.

What does turnkey interior design cost?

A refresh usually lands between US $10,000 and 25,000. A full design runs from US $25,000 to 60,000+ for a large villa, with furniture, lighting, art, kitchenware and linens included. Every number is quoted in writing after we measure, and you approve one presentation and one budget before anything is ordered.

How long from keys to finished?

You hand us keys and a floor plan; you get one presentation, one contract and one written schedule. You come back to a styled, photographed, ready-to-live-in home on the date in that schedule.

Can you do everything while I’m out of the country?

That’s the point. Most of our clients are abroad for the entire project. We send progress updates, handle deliveries and security, and reveal the finished home when you land.

Will interior design raise my nightly rate?

Design is one of the few things an owner controls that guests pay for directly: it shows in the photos, the reviews and the rate a listing can hold. The studio is the design arm of PlayaStays, which manages rentals across the Riviera Maya, and on a call we’ll show you comparable listings in your building so you can judge the gap yourself.

Does staging or design help when I sell?

In the National Association of REALTORS® 2025 staging survey, 83% of buyers’ agents said staging helps buyers picture the home as theirs, and 29% of sellers’ agents reported offers 1–10% higher. A finished, photographed home is also far easier to show to buyers who are abroad.

What if I already own furniture I want to keep?

We design around it. Send photographs of the pieces that stay and we build the scheme to include them. It costs less than a full replacement and the room ends up reading as yours.

Can I see the design before I commit?

Yes. The Concept Lab turns photos of your rooms into photoreal renders within 48 hours, and the full design is presented and approved on paper before anything is ordered.

Where do you work?

Playa del Carmen, Playacar and Tulum, including Aldea Zama, plus Puerto Morelos and the rest of the Riviera Maya by arrangement.
