01Plan the layers
Ambient, task and accent, on separate circuits. A single bright ceiling light is what makes a beautiful room look like a rental.
02Specify fittings and speakers
Warm, dimmable fittings rated for humidity, and speakers sized to the room — in-ceiling indoors, weatherproof on the terrace.
03Wire it in
Cabling, back boxes and dimmers run before the walls close wherever possible. Retrofits routed so you see light, not conduit.
04Scened and handed over
Scenes set for morning, dinner and late evening, so the room is one button away from right. Labelled, explained and on file with us.

Lighting & sound — questions, answered.
Can you improve the lighting without opening walls?
Often, yes — smart dimmers in existing switch boxes, plug-in lamps on scenes, replacing cold downlights with warm dimmable ones, and pendants where the wiring already is. Concealed coves and new circuits need the walls open; we tell you which is which.
What colour temperature should a home here be?
Warm — 2700K, dimmable to a candle. The developer’s 6000K downlights are why the condo felt like a clinic at night. Fixing that alone changes the home.
Do lighting scenes work for a rental?
Especially well. “Arrival” turns the home on with the door code, “goodnight” at the bedside, quiet hours cap the music. Guests never touch a setting and the reviews mention the atmosphere.
Sonos or wired speakers?
Sonos for flexibility and retrofits; hard-wired multi-room for new builds and full renovations where we can run cable. Both are invisible when done properly. We often mix them.
Will outdoor speakers survive the salt?
Marine-rated ones do. Positioned under the shade, sealed, and on a circuit we can cut in a storm. We replace the failed cheap ones every season on other people’s roofs.
How long does it take?
Scenes on existing lighting are a single visit. Full lighting design runs with the interior or stand-alone, on a written schedule; whole-home audio usually adds one visit more.
