No. 02 — Headboards
Headboards from bed-width to wall-to-wall.
The headboard is what a bedroom photograph is really of. Hand-carved hardwood panels, upholstered panels in performance bouclé, or a full-wall wood screen with the nightstands and reading lights built in. Sized to your wall, finished to your bed.

No. 03 — Nightstands
Nightstands that match the bed and hide the cables.
Built in the same slab as the bed so the room reads as one piece. A drawer for the things you don’t want photographed, a cable pass for the phone, a floating version when the floor should stay clear. Height matched to your mattress top.

Materials that love this climate.
Parota
The Riviera Maya’s signature slab — wide, warm, wildly figured. Kiln-dried and stabilised locally, which is why ours don’t crack in year two.
Tzalam
Denser, darker, tighter grain. Takes a razor edge on legs and frames; the wood for pieces that must stay dead straight.
Teak
Naturally oily, so salt and rain slide off. Outdoor dining, bar tops, anything that lives on a terrace.
Cast Concrete & Chukum
Poured to size, sealed, immovable. Chukum — the Maya resin plaster — gives it the soft ivory of the region.
Travertine
Ivory, noce or silver. Honed and sealed for wet glasses; cool underhand in a warm room.

Built to your mattress, your ceiling height and the wall it leans against — in solid wood, upholstery or both.
01Measure the wall and the mattress
Headboard width is set by the wall, not the mattress. We measure sockets, switches and the height a bedside lamp needs to clear.
02Choose the timber and the cloth
Solid parota or tzalam, upholstered linen, or a wood frame with a padded panel. Samples on site, in your own light.
03Built and upholstered
Frame jointed on our benches and slatted for airflow, which matters in this humidity. Upholstery cut and stitched by the same local makers.
04Installed in the room
Delivered flat where a staircase demands it, assembled upstairs, fixed to the wall and levelled. The mattress goes back on the same day.

Custom beds — questions, answered.
Do you build to US or European mattress sizes?
Both. Tell us the mattress you have or plan to buy — US King (193 × 203), Cal King, Queen, or EU 160/180 — and the platform is built to it with a 20 mm reveal, so the mattress sits in rather than on.
How much does a custom platform bed cost?
A queen platform in parota and a king with a wall-to-wall headboard, integrated lights and two nightstands are different projects. Send the room dimensions and mattress size and we quote it in writing, delivered and installed.
Can the headboard run the whole wall?
Yes — that is the version most owners choose. We template the wall, build the headboard in sections that fit the stairwell, and integrate reading lights, USB and the nightstands so nothing else is needed.
Will solid wood warp in the humidity?
Not when it is dried for this climate. Every slab is kiln-dried and stabilised locally before it becomes a bed, and finished with a breathable sealer. It is the reason our beds don’t creak in year three.
How long does a custom bed take?
Every commission gets a written schedule at sign-off. If you are furnishing a rental before the season, we sequence the bedrooms first.
Do you deliver and assemble across the Riviera Maya?
Yes, with our own crew, and it is included. Beds are built in sections that fit any staircase, assembled in the room, levelled and cleaned up after.
